It was all about me initially...
Ever since I started planning to cycle the length of New Zealand, I’d been confidently replying to people who asked 'Oh no, I'm not fundraising. I'm doing it for the adventure.'
But when I joined Siemens Healthineers I found out about Radiology Across Borders (RAB), and when my colleagues wondered if I could use this as an opportunity to raise awareness for this charity, I realised it was too good an opportunity to miss.
I've been a big fan of RAB since I first heard about them. RAB trains local doctors in developing nations to use the power of radiology to save lives by detecting cancer and other illnesses early. Radiology is an amazing resource, but unless used correctly can result in a missed diagnosis, or even mis-diagnosis.
So Renée's Adventurous Bike-ride is now for Radiology Across Borders, RAB 4 RAB.
